One of the questions we’re regularly asked is what is the difference between satin chrome sockets and brushed chrome sockets? Well the answer is simple – there is no difference!

Spot the difference?!
Why Brushed Chrome?
The finish of the socket has a brushed effect running down the plate, hence the reference to the brushed chrome finish. This is opposed to the alternative which is the polished finish, where there is more of a uniform mirrored effect.
Why Satin Chrome?
Some people refer to the plate based on the finish. The satin (or even matt) finish is a lot different to the shiny finish on a polished chrome plate, which has a mirror effect.
Why Satin Chrome over Polished Chrome?
While polished chrome has a fantastic impact there is always a down-side! It does tend to pick up finger prints more easily. They are easily polished off with a duster or cloth, but for people wanting the low maintenance socket and switches we would recommend the Satin Chrome Sockets and Switches.
